New Year Thoughts

New Year Thoughts </title?>
As we sit on the cusp of 2020, several bloggers I follow are thinking about the New Year, as am I. Here are a couple of my favorite entries that have given me inspiration.
Breandan Leonard wants us to Practice Maximum Enthusiasm. I love this, as having a good attitude can help in even the worst of situations. Being present in the moment is one thing I’ve tried to cultivate, especially as my kids get older and I realize my time with them living at home is ever ticking away.
Kai from Dense Discovery linked to a Tweet by Kenyon Laing on the concept of an individual having a Rebuilding Year. I love this. The sports metaphor resonates with me - as a hockey fan I’ve lived through my team having a rebuilding year (or five) in hopes of eventually getting back on top, which they did last year. Why can’t people do the same thing? We can’t be on top of our game 100% of the time. Giving ourselves the time and space to step back, reset/regroup, and come up with a plan to improve our lot should be something more people do. The alternative is to muddle through, and wake up 20 years down the road and realize we’ve been living on default mode.
